Durrant Funeral Services Ltd was founded in 2019 by Neil and Tracy Durrant, combining Neil’s extensive career in funeral services with Tracy’s compassionate approach. After years of working with a regional co-operative society, Neil wanted to offer a more personal service, treating families like our own. Tracy joined him in this mission, ensuring a dedicated, supportive experience throughout the entire funeral process.
Neil’s career began in a small family funeral business, where he qualified as a funeral director and embalmer by the age of 20. He later became a senior funeral director and group manager, overseeing 12 funeral homes. Tracy, who worked as a teaching assistant, joined the funeral service in 2015 and quickly earned the respect of families in her care.
With over 40 years of experience between us, we’re here to guide you through any funeral arrangements—religious, non-religious, or personalised.
MEET NEIL D DURRANT
With a Diploma in Funeral Directing and as a Member of the British Institute of Embalmers, Neil began his career in 1981 as a funeral assistant with small family-run funeral directors in Worcestershire. Encouraged to gain qualifications in embalming and funeral directing, he achieved both by 1985. After the business was taken over by a large regional Co-op, he progressed to funeral director and group manager across the Midlands. In February 2019, he decided to establish his own funeral home, with a focus on providing a personal, caring service to the local community at a fair price.
MEET TRACY DURRANT
In 2015, Tracy made a career change that led her into the funeral profession, joining a large regional Co-operative society. With her background as a teaching assistant, where she cared for and supported primary-aged children, Tracy was able to transfer those nurturing skills into providing care for grieving families. She offered valuable advice and support, guiding them through the funeral arrangements with compassion and empathy.
